Senator Win Gatchalian orders DepEd to review the K-12 program
Senator Win Gatchalian insisted on the Department of Education or DepEd to review the K-12 program in the second year of implementation. According to Gatchalian, it is important to adjust the K-12 curriculum program to ensure that graduates will find employment soon enough. Gatchalian urged DepEd to work on the survey results conducted by Jobstreet Philippines in April that only 24-percent of Philippine employers are open to the K-12 Completion Program. As chairman of the Senate Sub-Committee on Education Reform, Gatchalian also plans to conduct a hearing on the education system in the country. Gatchalian's second hearing target is to know the reason why the number of graduates of the K-12 program is getting a job.
