Maternity Benefits ng SSS aabot ng P70,000 simula Enero 2020

Maternity assistance from maternal and child health workers will increase starting January 2020. According to SSS President and CEO Aurora Ignacio, from the previous P32,000 it will increase to P70,000 - is to be granted as maternity benefit to newborn female SSS members that is employed or self-employed. Ignacio explained that this was due to the implementation of the new minimum and maximum monthly salary credit based on the implementation of Republic Act No. 11210 or Expanded Maternity Leave Act and SSS Act of 2018. Meanwhile, SSS is proud that since the implementation of the Expanded Maternity Leave Act has reached 122,000 mothers who have benefited more than P2.67-B from January to April this year. Senator Win Gatchalian orders DepEd to review the K-12 program

Senator Win Gatchalian insisted on the Department of Education or DepEd to review the K-12 program in the second year of implementation. According to Gatchalian, it is important to adjust the K-12 curriculum program to ensure that graduates will find employment soon enough. Gatchalian urged DepEd to work on the survey results conducted by Jobstreet Philippines in April that only 24-percent of Philippine employers are open to the K-12 Completion Program. As chairman of the Senate Sub-Committee on Education Reform, Gatchalian also plans to conduct a hearing on the education system in the country. Gatchalian's second hearing target is to know the reason why the number of graduates of the K-12 program is getting a job.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Tuesday announced that five out of the 39 commonly used vinegar brands it tested contained synthetic acetic acid and must not be sold to the public. Here are the vinegar manufacturers found on synthetic acetic acid: Surebuy Cane Vinegar (with best before date of March 26, 2021 Tentay Pinoy Style Vinegar (with best before date of March 18, 2021 Tentay Premium Vinegar (with batch number TV Sep0718 AC) Tentay Vinegar Sukang Tunay Asim (which expires on June 6, 2020) Chef’s Flavor Vinegar (with batch number 8870401) According to Health Undersecretary Rolando Enrique Domingo, such vinegar should not be sold to the public. The FDA, however, clarified that the brands of vinegar found with synthetic acid were only deemed as substandard but does not pose a safety issue or any health risk to consumers.
