Government take over plans at PALECO facilities in Palawan, supported

The Committee on Energy Chairman Senator Sherwin Gatchalian has supported the government's plan to take over Palawan Electric Cooperative or PALECO.

This is a statement by Gatchalian, after President Rodrigo Duterte threatened to take over PALECO when it continues until the end of the year the blackout or loss of power supply in Palawan.

According to Gatchalian, August 2017, he has made a dialogue between PALECO, other stakeholders and affected by the supply of electricity in Palawan.

Gatchalian said that in 2017, PALECO has always plagued the problem with the supply of electricity but is still committed to hearing them and still has no action.

Gatchalian asserted that the National Electrification Administration (NEA) has taken control of PALECO to provide enough supply of electricity to the Palawan areas covered by its operations.
